Stuff I Heard 508 Avoid These Disney Mistakes!!

First-time Disney World visitors often make common mistakes that can be avoided with a little preparation. These include failing to make dining reservations, not downloading the My Disney Experience app, wearing uncomfortable shoes, overplanning, and forgetting baby essentials

Here's a more detailed look at common mistakes and how to avoid them:

1. Not Making Dining Reservations:

  • The mistake:

Popular restaurants can fill up quickly, leaving you with limited options or long wait times.

  • How to avoid:

Make dining reservations 60 days in advance through the My Disney Experience app.

2. Not Downloading the My Disney Experience App:

  • The mistake:

This app is essential for park planning, dining reservations, mobile ordering, ride wait times, and more.

  • How to avoid:

Download and familiarize yourself with the My Disney Experience app before your trip.

3. Not Wearing Comfortable Shoes:

  • The mistake: You'll be doing a lot of walking, and uncomfortable shoes can lead to blisters and tired feet.

  • How to avoid: Choose comfortable, supportive walking shoes.

4. Overplanning:

  • The mistake: Trying to cram too much into one day can lead to a stressful and overwhelming experience.

  • How to avoid: Create a general plan but leave room for flexibility and spontaneity.

5. Forgetting Baby Essentials:

  • The mistake:

Baby and child comfort is important, and forgetting essentials can lead to an unpleasant experience.

  • How to avoid:

Pack diapers, wipes, sunscreen, a portable charger, and other essentials for your little ones.

6. Not Understanding Virtual Queues:

  • The mistake:

Some popular attractions require you to join a virtual queue, and not understanding how it works can lead to missed opportunities.

  • How to avoid:

Learn about virtual queues and how to join them through the My Disney Experience app.

7. Skipping Rope Drop:

  • The mistake:

Arriving at the park shortly before opening can mean longer wait times for popular rides later in the day.

  • How to avoid:

Arrive early to take advantage of shorter wait times and a less crowded park experience.

8. Not Preparing for the Heat:

  • The mistake:

Florida weather can be very hot and humid, leading to dehydration and discomfort.

  • How to avoid:

Drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and take breaks in air-conditioned areas.

9. Skipping Early Lightning Lane Reservations:

  • The mistake: Early Lightning Lane reservations allow you to skip the regular line and access attractions faster.

  • How to avoid: Make your Lightning Lane reservations early and take advantage of them.

By avoiding these common mistakes, you can have a more enjoyable and stress-free Disney World experience.
